Re: LIST YOUR FAVORITE MOVIES, no particular number limit.
Mon, March 15, 2004 - 4:33 PMthis is like asking me who really is my best friend?? I love movies like the people in my life-I see them for who they are and appreciate the special, unique gifts I am lucky to receive.
I have feelings about all the films I've seen. and each one moves me in different ways. among the ones that come to mind this moment-Nightmare Before Christmas, Some Like It Hot, Touch of Evil, The Anniversary Party, Royal Tenenbaums, Citizen Kane, The Last Picture Show, Crimes of Passion, Rebecca, 12 Angry Men (the Fonda version) Down By Law, Casablanca, The Pillow Book, American Splendor, Boogie Nights, Spartacus, Days of Wine and Roses, Ice Storm, Donnie Darko, Barton Fink, Mellies' Trip To The Moon, Wizard of Oz, My Fair Lady, Lumiere's Train Station, Gods and Monsters, LOTR (all three Jackson films)...the list doesn't have an end. my love for films is truly eternal.
at the moment, I'm re-watching the documentary, A Personal Journey With Martin Scorsese Through American Movies.
I strongly recommend this as an amazing collection of memories from one of Hollywood's most dedicated film documentarians. -

Re: LIST YOUR FAVORITE MOVIES, no particular number limit.
Fri, March 19, 2004 - 4:42 PMBlue Velvet! I made my roommates watch "Blue Velvet" recently and they gave me so much crap for it... I started to question my own good judgement, now I feel so validated.
So my short list:
Fight Club + anything by David Fincher
Cité des Enfants Perdus + anything by Jean-Paul Jeunet
Dune + anything by David Lynch
Any cheesy romantic comedy with John Cusack. (The Sure Thing, Say Anything, High Fidelity, Serendipity, Class <--- particularly good, but small role)
I also love anything that comes from the Pixar studios.
